چکیده
The Ukrainian Carpathians is the territory with a great threat of floods. This due to natural and climatic conditions this region, which characterized by mountainous terrain, high density hydrological network significant amount precipitation. Amount precipitation here ranges from 600 mm on plains 1,600 mountain tops. main factors floods occurrence are excessive precipitation, low water permeability soil proportion low-permeability rocks (flysch layers predominance clay layers). Therefore, catastrophic in region were also observed previous centuries, when anthropogenic impact environment, including forest ecosystems, was not comparable current one. Any flood period development, its critical (maximum) intensity decline. In present paper, based use methods for approximating curves results experimental studies waters, method mathematical description forecasting development suggested. recommended direction further research may be related means determine parameters that affect process formation.

mortality forecasting based on lee-carter model
over the past decades a number of approaches have been applied for forecasting mortality. in 1992, a new method for long-run forecast of the level and age pattern of mortality was published by lee and carter. this method was welcomed by many authors so it was extended through a wider class of generalized, parametric and nonlinear model. this model represents one of the most influential recent d...

In this paper, a data mining approach is proposed for duration prediction of the town trips (travel time) in New York City. In this regard, at first, two novel approaches, including a mathematical and a statistical approach, are proposed for grouping categorical variables with a huge number of levels. The proposed approaches work based on the cost matrix generated by repetitive post-hoc tests f...
متن کاملFlash Flood Forecasting: An Ingredients-Based Methodology
An approach to forecasting the potential for flash flood–producing storms is developed, using the notion of basic ingredients. Heavy precipitation is the result of sustained high rainfall rates. In turn, high rainfall rates involve the rapid ascent of air containing substantial water vapor and also depend on the precipitation efficiency. The duration of an event is associated with its speed of ...
متن کاملWater Flow Forecasting and River Simulation for Flood Risk Analysis
The paper presents the state-of-the-art in flood forecasting and simulation applied to a river flood analysis and risk prediction. Different water flow forecasting and river simulation models are analysed. An advanced river flood forecasting and modelling approach developed within the ongoing project INFROM is described. It provides an integrated procedure for river flow forecasting and simulat...
متن کاملQuantifying Uncertainty of Flood Forecasting Using Data Driven Models
Flooding is a complex and inherently uncertain phenomenon. Consequently forecasts of it are inherently uncertain in nature due to various sources of uncertainty including model uncertainty, input uncertainty and parameter uncertainty. Several approaches have been reported to quantify and propagate uncertainty through flood forecasting models using probabilistic and fuzzy set theory based method...
